I am tagging Jamie, Heather, and Meg.
Pick up the book you are currently reading (we all have a book waiting for us on the nightstand, right?), turn to page 56, go to the 5th sentence and post the next 2-5 sentences in the book. Then tag 3-5 other people.
One day he found a can of salmon that had been thrown away. He ate the entire thing in one sitting. Later he threw up the contents of his hurried lunch.
He dreaded Christmas. It wasn't because he didn't believe in Christmas or Santa Claus; it was because they didn't seem to believe in him.
This passage was from a christmas story in the book, The Twelve Days of Christmas - Ideas for a More Meaningful Holiday Season by Betty Van Orden. The story is titled, Levi's Christmas. The book is meant to help your families celebrate the birth of the Savior with more meaning in their hearts and with more action in their lives through 12 days of giving and service during the Christmas season.
I will leave you with a quote from L. Tom Perry, The improvement Era, Dec. 1970, that Mrs. Van Orden opens the book with.
Oh, parents, we would plead, give good and happy memories to your children - not pampering or overindulging, not satisfying everything they take a fancy to - but memories of love, encouragement, of peace and harmony and happiness at home-memories that will bless and lift their lives wherever they are, always and forever.
I hope all of you will find ways to create love and service in your homes during the holiday season. -Michelle
